Kathryn Snyder and Jerry Kutchey, Betty White Ocean Legacy Circle donors since 2021

Legacy giving from afar

Kathryn Snyder and Jerry KutcheyKathryn Snyder and Jerry Kutchey have been loyal supporters since 2014.

While residing in the Bay Area, Kathryn would often visit Monterey Bay for dive training and was astounded by the wonderful world full of life underwater. She visited the Aquarium to see how we displayed what she’d seen while diving in the bay and to share with Jerry the amazing life she saw underwater since he wasn’t a diver.

Ten years ago, Kathryn and Jerry moved to Colorado to enjoy retirement. That didn’t stop them from supporting the Aquarium. When the Aquarium was faced with unprecedented challenges due to the pandemic, they even increased their annual gift to help offset admission revenue losses.

Kathryn and Jerry also began to think about estate planning after taking part in estate planning webinars we offered. Since they don’t have children, they realized they had a unique opportunity to make a transformational gift. Their legacy gift will support the Aquarium’s Endowment Fund for the Future of the Ocean, advancing the mission of the Aquarium in perpetuity.

Kathryn says “It doesn’t matter where you live. The Aquarium is leading a conservation movement and we are happy to be part of that important work.”
